I don't know about other places, but where I'm from, it DOES take 3 years to finish studying food science (And, yes, it's a real thing, although it's called slightly different).
Mali is actually majoring in Sociology. The funny part is that these guys have lived with her that long and still have no idea what's going on :3
Or perhaps she's running a long-term sociological experiment on them as part of her studies?
