Characters

Exhibit 1: Van Garten, Riley
Breed: German Shepherd
Age: 26
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 260 lbs
Occupation: Dude
Favorite food: Pulled pork sandwiches
Favorite beverage: Black cherry bourbon

Riley may have come from a less-than-desirable background, but he always seems to end up on top... of a sofa. He considers himself a patron of the simpler things in life, fine takeout foods, girlwatching, fart jokes, chillaxing. Though he's never held a serious job, he has an underlying go-to attitude and an unshakable devotion to his best friends. For the last several years he has resided with student friend Mali and partner-in-crime Carl.

Exhibit 2: Wade, Carl
Breed: Yellow Lab
Age: 21
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 138 lbs
Occupation: Collector of Oddities
Favorite food: Soba noodles
Favorite beverage: Seltzer water

Carl and Riley go way back, though in most ways they're polar opposites. Carl is eccentric and unabashedly nerdy, fixating intensely on obscure comics, rare technologies, and generally useless things. His fascinations are much less straightforward than those of his older buddy, though he is also an avid fitness nut and frequently gives out free (unsolicited) advice. However, his impressive book-smarts is often offset by his general lack of common sense.

Exhibit 3: Burke, Mali
Breed: Irish Setter
Age: 24
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 145 lbs
Occupation: Student
Favorite food: Surf & Turf
Favorite beverage: Unknown

Originally hailing from the Northeast, Mali is currently pursuing a masters degree in sociology. Smart, sassy and independent, her reasons for tolerating Riley and Carl have been a mystery for ages. She's not afraid to get pushy to get what she wants, however, she has devoted more energy to gradually cultivating a vast web of social connections.

Exhibit 4: Arlow, Atwood
Breed: Corgi Mix
Age: 38
Height: 5' 0"
Weight: 130 lbs
Occupation: Surveillance Technician
Favorite food: Fish Tacos
Favorite beverage: Stout

By day, this mild-mannered mutt monitors telemetry data for a top-secret government operation. By night, he monitors professional poker matches on TV and paints WolfWars figurines. But given the opportunity by his commanding officer to do some field work (and test out some expensive military mecha), this D20-throwing renaissance fair junkie sees a golden opportunity to ham it up and play the role of a real-life comic book character. More often the outcomes of his "missions" remind him that he may need to lay off the sci-fi forums.
